Total Boat Marine Surveyors Limited is a member of the NAMS Global and American Yacht and Boat Council and conducts regular continuing educaton for keep up to date on the latest standards and developments in the boat repair and maintenance field.

Kelly Thody
Marine Surveyor and Owner

Kelly has a diverse resume in the professional marine industry helping to build marinas, working as a diesel and outboard repairer, sailmaker and rigger and managing large fleets of charter and private yachts.

After completing various professional and recreational tickets, Kelly entered an apprenticeship in Marine Surveying with Total Boat Marine Surveyors with NAMS-CMS Allan Betton and is a NAMS Global Certified Marine Surveyor himself.

Kelly regularly attends courses and seminars to keep on the edge of developements in the marine industry and to reinforce proper maintenance and repair techniques.

Kelly is a life long avid boater growing up between Alert Bay, B.C. and Victoria, B.C. where he lived aboard from the age of ten. He has cruised, delivered, crewed and raced power and sail boats sized from dinghies to 110 feet from Alert Bay to Hawaii and in the Caribbean.

Personally Kelly can usually be found kicking fenders at local marinas, racing keel boats at various venues or off riding bicycles.
